Being faithful to the local body

SERMON TOPIC: Being faithful to the local body

Speaker: Ken Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 25 October 2010

Topic Groups: FELLOWSHIP, FAITHFULNESS

Sermon synopsis: When the wind stops blowing, don’t abandon ship - pick up an oar.

Acts 27:29-31 Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight. In an attempt to escape from the ship, the sailors let the lifeboat down into the sea, pretending they were going to lower some anchors from the bow. Then Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved.”

John 10:12-13 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
