Sermon synopsis: In Luke 15 Jesus tells us about a lost sheep, a lost coin and a lost son.
1 out of 100 sheep is a 1% loss.
1 out of 10 coins is a 10% loss.
1 out of 2 sons is a 50% loss.
The sheep, the coin and the son were lost but were subsequently found - which resulted in rejoicing.
In the following chapter Jesus tells us about the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man experienced a 100% loss but unlike the sheep, the coin and the son, he was never found - he was lost forever!
