Matthew 11:1&2.
Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!

Jesus called the crowd to him and said, Listen and understand. What goes into a man’s mouth does not make him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him unclean.

JESUS THEN EXPLAINS THIS TO HIS DISCIPLES
Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.
In Matthew 12:24. When the Pharisees attributed what Jesus did to the power of Beelzebub the prince of demons, He issued a stern warning about speaking against the Holy Spirit.
THEN HE WENT ON TO SAY
Matthew 12:33-37.
But I tell you that men will have to give an account on the day of judgement for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words, you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned.

A tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks
A TREE IS RECOGNIZED BY IT’S FRUIT.
James 1:26.
Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
Luke 6:45.
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
SO, MANKIND HAS A HEART PROBLEM & THAT IS THE PROBLEM OF THE TONGUE
You’re walking around holding a cup of coffee when you trip, or someone bumps into you and causes it to spill.
Why did you spill coffee?
You might say, ”because I tripped, or someone bumped me!”
Wrong. it’s a trick question. you spilled coffee because coffee is what was in your cup.
Had there been tea in your cup, you would have spilled tea. had there been water, you would have spilled water.
Whatever it was that was in your cup is what would have spilled out.
AND SO, IT IS WITH OUR HEART.
THE NEW COVENANT PROMISE. Ezekial 11:19-21.
And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord God.
2 Corinthians 2:5.
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
HOW DO YOU TEST & EXAMINE YOURSELF? ….
HAVE YOU HAD A PURIFIED HEART?
(HAVE YOU ALLOWED YOUR HEART TO BECOME DEFILED?)
JESUS SAID “A TREE IS RECOGNISED BY IT’S FRUIT”
Proverbs 15:1.
A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 12:18.
The tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 15:4
The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life.
GOOD WORDS COME FROM A GOOD HEART.
James 3:8-12 .
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.
My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
Can both fresh water and saltwater flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
EVILWORDS COME FROM AN EVIL HEART.
1 Peter 3:10.
Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.

THE PROBLEM OF THE TONGUE IS THAT IT IS THE OVERFLOW OF THE HEART,TO CHANGE THE WORDS OF THE TONGUE,THE HEART MUST BE PURIFIED
AND THEN IT MUST BE PROTECTED
AND PREPARED BY GOD’S WORD
YOU MAY SAY THAT YOU DO SING AND PRAY AND PRAISE, BUT GOD IS NOT JUST LOOKING FOR JUST LIP SERVICE.
Luke 15:8-9.(Isaiah29:13) Jesus says:
These people come near to me with their mouth
and honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
John 4:23-24.
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
ECCLESISATES 5:1-5.
Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.
Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart
to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven and you are on earth,
so let your words be few.
A dream comes when there are many cares,
and many words mark the speech of a fool.
PSALM46:10.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.
PSALM 46:8-10.
Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.
He says, Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.
Since we are receiving our rights to an unshakable kingdom we should be extremely thankful and offer God the purest worship that delights His heart as we lay down our lives in absolute surrender, filled with awe. For our God is a holy, devouring fire!

WHO MADE US, WHO SPOKE THE UNIVERSE INTO BEING AND YET LOVED US SO MUCH THAT HE STEPPED DOWN FROM HIS GLORY TO TAKE OUR HUMANITY UPON HIMSELF SO THAT HE COULD DIE FOR OUR SIN AND COULD SPEND ETERNITY WITH US AS HIS BELOVED BRIDE.
A GOOD ATTITUDE TO ENTER INTO WORSHIP
THERE ARE NO WORDS TO TELL HOW I LOVE YOU, THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EVEN MAKE A START, THERE ARE NO WORDS WORTHY OF YOUR SACRIFICE THERE ARE NO WORDS ,”SO LORD I GIVE MY HEART.”

WE NEED TO HAVE:
A PURIFIED HEART.
A PROTECTED HEART.
A PREPARED HEART.
Proverbs 4:23-24.
Above all else, guard your heart, for
everything you do flows from it.
Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
How do we keep corrupt talk from our lips?? By guarding our heart.
