• Understand the difference between Ontological Christology, Functional Christology and Soteriological Christology
• Be aware of the development of Christology in Church history.
• Defend the orthodox doctrine of the deity of Jesus versus the cultic non-trinitarian views (Arianism, Modalism, Docetism, etc).
• Comprehend the importance of the doctrine of the humanity of Jesus.
• Understand the union of Jesus’ two natures.
• Be able to define terms like Kenosis and Hypostatic Union.
• Understand the significance of the title Logos as applied to Jesus.
• Be knowledgeable about how Christ was both prophesied and foreshadowed (typology) in the Old Testament.
• Understand the doctrine of the Messiahship of Jesus.
• Articulate how in history, Christ operates in three offices (prophet, priest and king).
