Johanna-Pillinger/Johanna-Pillinger.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: Wycliffe Bible Translators in SA

Speaker: Johanna Pillinger

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 7 July 2019

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, GREAT COMMISSION, BIBLE

Sermon synopsis: Bible Translation is at the core of who Wycliffe are. We want to see God’s Word alive in every language, transforming lives and communities in this generation.

Almost one third of the world's 7,000 languages do not even have one translated verse of God's word. This means that nearly 300 million people are still waiting for a translation of the scriptures into the language of their hearts. While they wait they are kept from fully understanding God's love and His ways.

We are privileged to partner with indigenous churches and Bible Translation organisations around the world to bring God's Word to them sooner rather than later.

Together we are committed to beginning Bible Translation work in every language that needs it by 2025 – introducing VISION 2025!

SERMON TOPIC: The Great Commission - Part 5 - Trends and opportunities

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 18 November 2018

Topic Groups: GREAT COMMISSION, MISSIONS, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: Jesus gave the Great Commission 2000 years ago, what’s happened since?

“With the explosion of the church in the Southern Hemisphere, we must ask, does the church of the Lord Jesus Christ still need the western, denominational career missionary? Since this model of service is 200 years old, have we not come to a stage where we need to ask ‘How does God want us to serve the church in the present context?’ ” - Paul R. Gupta and Sherwood G. Lingenfelter

SERMON TOPIC: The Great Commission - Part 7 - Trends and opportunities

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 26 August 2018

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, GREAT COMMISSION, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: TREND 1: MIGRATION
In the past you had to go to a foreign country to be a missionary to other people groups. Now many of those people groups are coming to us. “Go into all the world” includes evangelising when the whole world comes to us e.g. the day of Pentecost.
TREND 2: URBANIZATION
South Africa’s urbanisation trends are far higher than that of the African continent’s average. It is now more urbanised than rural. From only around 43% in 1950, by mid-2014 64.3% of the population were living in urban areas. Because there is a higher percentage of Christians living in cities, urbanisation is actually good for evangelism and missions. In the past you had to go to the rural areas to reach the majority of the country’s population. Now many of those people groups are coming to the cities.

Gavin-Paynter/The-Great-Commission_Part6_Trends_opportunities-HIV-AIDS.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: The Great Commission - Part 6 - Trends and opportunities - HIV-AIDS

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 29 July 2018

Topic Groups: HIV AIDS, MISSIONS, GREAT COMMISSION

Sermon synopsis: HIV-AIDS is a pandemic that is ravaging families, communities and entire nations. Since the start of the epidemic around 78 million have become infected with HIV and 35 million people have died of AIDS related illnesses. Worldwide, 1.8 million people became newly infected with HIV in 2016, of which 160 000 were children. In 2016, there were 36.7 million people living with HIV worldwide and 1 million people died from AIDS-related causes.

We have an opportunity to show the love of Jesus to those who are suffering. Look at how Jesus treated lepers who were the outcasts of his day and the equivalent of modern AIDS sufferers.

We need to repent of attitudes of prejudice, apathy, lack of compassion, and double standards in relation to sexual sin, recognizing the suffering of millions who are affected directly and indirectly by this disease, many through no fault of their own. But we also have to challenge and confront the sins that contribute to the spread of HIV.

Gavin-Paynter/The-prototype-Christian-church.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: MISSIONS- The prototype Christian church

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 22 July 2018

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: Acts 11:26 The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

But what were the traits of this prototype church in Antioch where Christians first received their name? Amongst other things, Antioch was the first mission church.

In Antioch, following the prompting of the Holy Spirit, the initiative was taken by a local congregation to launch and support a missionary venture to people beyond its own locale. The gospel had come to Antioch almost accidentally - that is due to Christians migrating there to escape persecution. But following the events in Acts 13 the church in Antioch make the propagation of the gospel a conscious strategy.

The church in Antioch had a mission strategy which included (a) sending and support, (b) praying and fasting and (c) feedback and a home base. And so following the lead of this prototype Christian church, we too should have a conscious missions strategy.

SERMON TOPIC: Exhortation from Scottish missionaries

Speaker: John Tait

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 24 April 2016

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, TESTIMONY

Sermon synopsis: John 19:16-27 (KJV) Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin. Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

Nik-Ripken/Nik-Ripken.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: The Christmas Story

Speaker: Nik Ripken

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 10 October 2015

Topic Groups: CHRISTMAS, MISSIONS

Sermon synopsis: The Christmas story in Matthew 1-2 from the perspective of the persecuted church.

Nik and Ruth Ripken are veteran overseas workers for 30 years. During those years they have served in the fruitful harvest fields of Eastern and Southern Africa along with their three sons. Since 1991 they have laboured in countries which are predominantly defined by persecution toward those coming to faith in Jesus Christ. Following the deaths of many converts to faith in Jesus within a Muslim setting, mainly due to their relationship to foreign workers, they also experienced the death of their 16-year-old son on Easter Sunday morning due to an asthma attack in 1997. Soon after this the Ripkens began a global pilgrimage among believers in persecution to recapture a biblical missiology of witnessing and house church planting within environments of persecution and martyrdom.

SERMON TOPIC: The parable of the banquet

Speaker: Lindsey Parker

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 4 October 2015

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, EVANGELISM, PARABLES

Sermon synopsis: Luke 14:15 When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
16 Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’
18 “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’
19 “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’
20 “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’
21 “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’
22 “‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’
23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. 24 I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’”

- The internet
- HIV / AIDS

Gavin-Paynter/Passion-for-souls.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: Passion for souls

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 23 August 2015

Topic Groups: EVANGELISM, MISSIONS, PASSION

Sermon synopsis: When William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, was asked by the king of England what the ruling force of his life was, he replied, “Sir, some men’s passion is for gold, other men’s passion is for fame, but my passion is for souls.”

Gavin-Paynter/Passion-for-souls2.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: Passion for souls - Part 2

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 10 August 2015

Topic Groups: EVANGELISM, MISSIONS, PASSION

Sermon synopsis: While hiding in a cave from his enemies, David cries in despair that “no man cared for my soul” (Psalm 142:4)

Today too there are millions of people in the world whose souls it seems no one cares about. They have no one to comfort and encourage them, no one who will counsel and pray with them, and none who will tell them the good news about the way of salvation through Jesus.

Gavin-Paynter/Last-words-of-Jesus_The-great-commission2.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: Last words of Jesus - The great commission

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 12 July 2015

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, EVANGELISM, GREAT COMMISSION

Sermon synopsis: When someone is about to leave us (e.g. death or a departure to a faraway land), the last words they speak are ones that they consider to be the most important. There’s no time for wasted words when you have little time left with your loved ones. You want to utilize what time is left to impact them and, as we see in the case of Jesus, to leave any final instructions.

Among the last words spoken by Jesus after his resurrection and before his return to heaven are the words which have come to be known as: “The Great Commission”:

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:15-16)

Ken-Paynter/Our-Mission.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: Our Mission

Speaker: Ken Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 21 June 2015

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: Let me introduce my message today with two questions.

1) Do you consider yourself a true Christian, meaning 'a Disciple of Christ Jesus' who is compelled by God's love to do his will?
2) What is the Mission that you and I, who claim to have surrendered our lives to Christ, have been been given?

Gavin-Paynter/The-Great-Commission_Part3_Global-trends.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: The Great Commission - Part 3- Global trends

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 7 June 2015

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, GREAT COMMISSION, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: If current patterns continue, the unreached will still be 23-28% of the world’s population in 2025 (Stan Park, Ethne '06). So how should we approach missions and evangelism? Should we just keep on doing what we did before?

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got.

So what are some of the global trends we are seeing in today’s world? How do these present challenges or opportunities for us to advance and complete the Great Commission?

(1) Unbelievers opposition (increased persecution)
(2) Migration
(3) Urbanisation

Graham-Sahling/Graham-Sahling.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: The four lepers of Samaria

Speaker: Graham Sahling

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 16 November 2014

Topic Groups: EVANGELISM, MISSIONS

Sermon synopsis: 2 Kings 7:3 Now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, “Why stay here until we die? 4 If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die.”
5 At dusk they got up and went to the camp of the Arameans. When they reached the edge of the camp, not a man was there, 6 for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!” 7 So they got up and fled in the dusk and abandoned their tents and their horses and donkeys. They left the camp as it was and ran for their lives.

Gavin-Paynter/The-Great-Commission_Part2_Mission-priorities.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: The Great Commission - Part 2 - Uneven distribution of resources

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 29 June 2014

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, GREAT COMMISSION, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: There is enough evangelistic activity to reach the whole world.
Enough activity for every one in the world to hear a 1-hour presentation of the Gospel every other day all year long.
Over 1,43 billion hours of evangelism generated by Christians every year: personal witness, radio, TV, Internet, literature, etc.

But this evangelistic activity is unevenly targeted:
91% of all Christian outreach/evangelism does not target non-Christians, but targets other Christians.

Candice-Towndrow/20140622_True-religion.jpg

SERMON TOPIC: True religion

Speaker: Candice Towndrow

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 22 June 2014

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: James 1:26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Isa 58:1 “Shout it aloud, do not hold back.
Raise your voice like a trumpet.
Declare to my people their rebellion
and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.
2 For day after day they seek me out;
they seem eager to know my ways,
as if they were a nation that does what is right
and has not forsaken the commands of its God.
They ask me for just decisions
and seem eager for God to come near them.
3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say,
‘and you have not seen it?
Why have we humbled ourselves,
and you have not noticed?’
“Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please
and exploit all your workers.

SERMON TOPIC: What makes good soil

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 25 May 2014

Topic Groups: EVANGELISM, MISSIONS, FRUITFULNESS

Sermon synopsis: A Christian who does not bear fruit for the kingdom is not good soil. You cannot say “I am good soil” when you haven’t produced any harvest. In the parable of the sower Jesus said:

Matt 13:23 “The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” (NLT)

God expects us to bear fruit:
John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last...” (NIV)

Acts 1:8 'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.'

Acts 8:1 On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

SERMON TOPIC: Hellenic Ministries

Speaker: Nico Bougas

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 12 May 2014

Topic Groups: MISSIONS

Sermon synopsis: Greece was one of the first countries that the apostle Paul evangelized in response to the call from the Macedonian man in a vision. But 2000 years later Greece is again in desperate need of evangelism. This is a modern Macedonian call for help.

Acts 16:9-10 During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

Hudson Taylor said, “God isn’t looking for people of great faith, but for individuals ready to follow Him” and “God uses men who are weak and feeble enough to lean on him.”

The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.'

Speaker: Ken Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 3 March 2013

Topic Groups: FINANCES, MISSIONS, TITHING

Sermon synopsis: In the world today, more than 6 billion people live. If this world were shrunk to the size of a village of 100 people, what would it look like?
Of the 100 people in this village - 20 are undernourished. 1 is dying of starvation, while 15 are overweight.

Speaker: Missions

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 4 November 2012

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, DISCIPLESHIP

Sermon synopsis: Will you still serve Jesus if, like Job, you: (1) lost your money (2) had death in the family (3) lost your health (4) were lonely?
Job 1:20-22 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head.
Then he fell to the ground in worship
and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
may the name of the LORD be praised.”
In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

SERMON TOPIC: The prototype Christian church (Missionary church)

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 17 June 2012

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, EVANGELISM, THE CHURCH

Sermon synopsis: Followers of Jesus were known by some as the “Nazarene sect” (Acts 24:5).
At the time of Stephen’s martyrdom, Christianity was referred to as “the Way” (Acts 9:1-2)
But the disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.
(Acts 11:26)
As Antioch was the very church from where we derive the name “Christian”, by which we are still called today, and also THE FIRST MISSIONARY CHURCH, let’s have a close look at this church as a prototype Christian church.

SERMON TOPIC: The Great Commission

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 24 July 2011

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, GREAT COMMISSION, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: Often people ask, 'What prophetic event remains unfulfilled to prevent the return of Jesus?'
Well consider this prophecy by Jesus.
In Matthew 24:14, speaking prophetically Jesus said that 'this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.'
Q: Now, has the whole world heard the gospel?
Q: Do all people have the Bible in their own language?
So while we all look forward to the return of Jesus, WE HAVE UNFINISHED WORK.
'We talk of the Second Coming; half the world has never heard of the first.' (Oswald J. Smith)

SERMON TOPIC: Ezekiel 47

Speaker: Candice Towndrow

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 3 April 2011

Topic Groups: MISSIONS

Sermon synopsis: Ezekiel 47:1 The man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. 2 He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was flowing from the south side.
3 As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. 4 He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. 5 He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in - a river that no one could cross. 6 He asked me, 'Son of man, do you see this?'
Then he led me back to the bank of the river. 7 When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. 8 He said to me, 'This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Sea. When it empties into the Sea, the water there becomes fresh. 9 Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. 10 Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds - like the fish of the Great Sea. 11 But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. 12 Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing

SERMON TOPIC: The Unfinished Task

Speaker: Louis Blom

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 25 July 2010

Topic Groups: MISSIONS, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: Every year… 36.4 million …people die without Christ. The 10/40 Window has:

- 65% of the world’s population.
- 90% of the world’s poorest.
- 95% those unreached by Christian witness.

The Church challenge:
Imbalance in missionary distribution:

- Over 85% of all cross-cultural foreign missionaries minister among nominal Christian people.
- For every million unreached Muslims there are less than 3 missionaries.

Imbalance in missions finances:

For every R100 of Christian giving to all causes only 5 cents goes to finance pioneer church planting among unreached peoples.

SERMON TOPIC: The power of the Holy Spirit - "Dunamis"

Speaker: Louis Blom

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 6 June 2009

Topic Groups: HOLY SPIRIT, MISSIONS, EVANGELISM

Sermon synopsis: Louis Blom gives feedback from Judea Harvest. 1000 tents set up, 10000 crusades, 4500 churches planted, 65 churches planted in India.

Acts 1:8 'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The primary purpose for the giving of the Holy Spirit was not to speak in tongues, but:
(1) to receive power to be witnesses,
(2) to receive power to perform miracles,
(3) to receive spiritual authority.

If we don’t have these 3 things, we are not fulfilling the very purpose for which the Spirit was given.

SERMON TOPIC: The kingdom of God - 6C - Missions

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 14 December 2008

Topic Groups: PROPHECY, MISSIONS, KINGDOM OF GOD

Sermon synopsis: What are the characteristics of those who keep the 'Great Commission' of Jesus? The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. So how will they hear the gospel unless we respond to the call - to send and support workers, to go ourselves, and to translate the Bible into the common tongue of the unreached?

SERMON TOPIC: The kingdom of God - 6B - MISSIONS

Speaker: Gavin Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 9 November 2008

Topic Groups: PROPHECY, MISSIONS, KINGDOM OF GOD

Sermon synopsis: What is the 'Great Commission' that Jesus gave and what are the excuses that Christians use for not keeping it?

(1) Calvinist fatalism,
(2) It’s a big sacrifice,
(3) You might suffer,
(4) I’m not qualified or talented,
(5) It’s not convenient,
(6) I have other things to do first,
(7) The task is too great.

Jesus taught 7 consecutive parables in Matthew 13 about the kingdom. The parables, if understood, reveal the secrets of “the kingdom of heaven” (Matt 13:10-11). The 7 parables refer to 7 church ages. The sixth parable of 'The Pearl of Great Price' covers the period from approximately 1700 - 1900 AD or the 'Missionary Church'.

“Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
6 He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.
7 “But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. 8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

SERMON TOPIC: God uses the things man despises

Speaker: Ken Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 6 July 2008

Topic Groups: EVANGELISM, MISSIONS

Sermon synopsis: Just as David used 5 stones to defeat Goliath, so God uses 5 things to defeat Satan. He uses:
(1) the foolish things,
(2) the weak things,
(3) the lowly things,
(4) the despised things AND
(5) the things that are not.

1 Cor 1:26 Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him.

SERMON TOPIC: Evangelism

Speaker: Ken Paynter

Language: ENGLISH

Date: 26 August 2007

Topic Groups: EVANGELISM, MISSIONS

Sermon synopsis: 4 lepers went out from a city that was starving and found food, but while they were feasting they said “What we are doing is not right”.
In like manner, the gospel is one beggar telling another beggar where to find food.
Is our faith contagious?

Why do only 4% of Christians in the US share their faith? Is it because Paul says that in the last days men will have a form of godliness but deny the power.

God has given the witness of His Word and the witness of Conscience. In the Tribulation there will be 2 witnesses as well as the 144,000.
But today it’s you and me, we are God’s witnesses!

Sermon synopsis: Missionary pioneering in Congo forests : a narrative of the labours of William F.P. Burton and his companions in the native villages of Luba-Land (1922).
Burton (1886–1971) was a British Pentecostal missionary to the Belgian Congo. Along with James Salter, Smith Wigglesworth's son-in-law, he pioneered a mighty work in the Congo. Walking through jungles, wading through swamps, he crossed a wilderness to found a work that saw great signs and wonders, and many converts coming to the Lord.
