God’s Glory?
John the Baptist’s ministry was to prepare the way for God’s Glory. Isaiah 40:3–5.
A voice of one calling: In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together.
Jesus came for God’s Glory?
John 17:4.
I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.
Healing and miracles are for God’s Glory?
John 2:11.
What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
John 11:40-44
Jesus said to her, Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?
The purpose of creation is to reveal God’s Glory.
Romans1:18-24.
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him……… Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
Suffering and God’s Glory?
God’s Glory must be our motivation even when we suffer.
1 Peter 1:7.
These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith, of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire, may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.
John 21:19. Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”
God’s Glory and Missions and Evangelism.
Is God’s Glory our motivation for Missions and Evangelism?
2 Corinthians 4:15.
All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may to overflow to the glory of God.

Isaiah 66:18-19.
And I, because of what they have planned and done, am about to come and gather the people of all nations and languages, and they will come and see my glory.
I will set a sign among them, and I will send some of those who survive to the nations, to Tarshish,
to the Libyans and Lydians (famous as archers), to Tubal and Greece, and to the distant islands that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will proclaim my glory among the nations.
God’s “Chosen people” were to bring Him Glory.
Isaiah 43:6-7.
I will say to the north, Give them up! and to the south, Do not hold them back.
Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.
1 Peter 2:9. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
Do our sacrifices reflect God’s Glory?
Malachi 1:1-14.
A son honours his father, and a slave his master. If I am a father, where is the honour due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me? says the LORD Almighty.
It is you priests who show contempt for my name. But you ask, How have we shown contempt for your name? By offering defiled food on my altar.
But you ask, How have we defiled you? By saying that the LORD’s table is contemptible. When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you? says the LORD Almighty.
God’s Glory results in us pursuing Holiness.
2 Corinthians 3:18.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
1 John 3:2-3 & 6.
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure....
No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Everything we do must be for God’s Glory?
1 Peter 2:12.
Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
2 Corinthians 10:31. So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

The 2001 Peru shoot-down was an incident involving the Peruvian Air Force shooting down a civilian floatplane, killing American Christian missionary Roni Bowers. While flying into the Loreto Region of Peru, Bowers, her infant daughter Charity, husband Jim, and six-year-old son Cory were being followed by a United States' Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) observation plane which advised the Peruvian Cessna A-37 Dragonfly to shoot the civilian plane down, believing that they were carrying drugs out of the country. The Peruvian Air Force was operating as part of the Air Bridge Denial Program. The CIA did not attempt to identify the tail number of the church-owned plane per procedure.

Knowing that his wife and infant daughter already were dead from the gunfire of an attacking jet, James Bowers held onto life in the Amazon River.
He pulled his 6-year-old son, Cory, and injured pilot Kevin Donaldson from the wreckage of their burning, bullet-riddled plane, which had flipped in the wide river in Peru.
Then he went back into the plane to retrieve the bodies of his wife and baby, holding them so they would not float away in the current.
These details -- relayed by Bowers to his pastor -- and others regarding Friday's attack (April 20, 2001) by a Peruvian jet fighter are coming to light as Bowers prepares for Friday's funeral for his wife, Veronica "Roni" Bowers, 35, and 7-month-old daughter, Charity.
The Rev. Bill Rudd, senior pastor at Calvary Church in Fruitport, which supported the Bowers' missionary work in Peru, said Tuesday he has spoken with Bowers several times since the small Cessna was mistaken for a drug-running plane.

Andy’s experience with a broken back praying for a man with melanoma and yet when he was prayed for his back was not healed, he ended up having to go for surgery.
When Andy shared this account with his congregation 2 families got up left the meeting, and when he phoned them they said that they did not want to be in a Church where the Pastor cannot trust the Lord for a miracle.
Numbers 120 to begin and went up to 450 and after the change of focus numbers dropped to 150, for about 2 years one family left every week.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

This is the ministry of the new agreement which God in his mercy has given us and nothing can daunt us. We use no hocus-pocus, no clever tricks, no dishonest manipulation of the Word of God. We speak the plain truth and so commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
If our Gospel is “veiled”, the veil must be in the minds of those who are spiritually dying. The spirit of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, and prevents the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, the image of God, from shining on them.
For it is Christ Jesus the Lord whom we preach, not ourselves; we are your servants for his sake. God, who first ordered ‘light to shine in darkness’, has flooded our hearts with his light.
We now can enlighten men only because we can give them knowledge of the glory of God, as we see it in the face of Jesus Christ.
God’s Glory results in us pursuing Holiness.
The modern day gospel is inspired by Satan. Satan was the one who wanted to be like God, in his pride he wanted to be exalted.
The true Gospel has God and His glory at the centre, the false apostate gospel has man and his wants and desires at the centre.
The reason why there is so much sin in the Church and sin in the lives of Christians is because we have not seen Him, we have not seen His Glory. We have looked at His Word and instead of seeing our sin and how selfish and wicked we are, we seen a promise box of all we can get and how we can escape hell.
A Prayer Of Repentance:
For thinking life was primarily about us and not You.
For primarily advancing our kingdom and not Yours.
For primarily seeking Your blessings more than You.
For primarily living for ourselves in a Christian context.
We repent. Fill us afresh with your Holy Spirit.
We will go anywhere, do anything and say anything for Your kingdom.
All we ask is that we might live to make You famous.
